Selwyn full sud test ride yesterday ! Some fast laps of Morillion free ride track and the black old race track as well. Which ive ridden and raced a few times , so after a small adjustments to levers and saddle , I let rip on the Selwyn and hit the fast lines and jumps - steep roll downs and off chamber corners as race pace. The bike just handle it and felt prédicable and stable though out!! 😃👍👏 the Ohlins rear Shox and the system Alex has désigned with help , keep the bike planted and tracking perfectly. It felt as though it had way more travel than it has , 140 rear , but never felt a harsh bottom out as defo used all travel avaible . As scrapped my pedals on floor a few times in the compressions 😉😃 . The test bike was a bit small for me , so could really climb a long time . So have not any idea for that . But it felt lively and much lighter than my old rig! A few minor tweaks to suit my size and to get it a tad lighter may be , I’ve found a local made replacement for my tired old Orange !! Rip 🍊 - long live Selywn !!

A wild and intimidating place ! The Grave / la grave , could be just that for anyone not prépared and on there game ! It’s steep , rocky lose and u forgiving 😳 need to be strong and focused to make it down in one peice . And that’s exactly what my last group were yesterday at 3200m start point , we’ve done a warm up run down from mid station on one of so called easier tails - which was in no way easy but everyone made it only me and max punctured 😃😉😳 everyone was riding well and condident so took whole group to very top at 3200m for the infamous King Stone road ! 1800m descent of rough rocks and committing roll ins- we took our time and had fantastic lunch at 2600m on way down in stunning spot @refguechancel . The whole group all made it with minor crashes and small dabs . They have all ridden impeccable we’ll all way here from Chamonix 5 days to Briancon with me , and previously have done Cham to Zermatt with e two. Otherwise I’ve never take a big group like to is to La Grave . Noticble riding better and better thou the week too! Taking on steep sections and rock drops with confidence. A shout out to both ladies , both moms or four kids each and even one of the here Jacob is 16 and road it as well / if not better than anyone (plus he hit all the gaps jumps that rest of us missed out !😃in the lower section💪) Italy have helpers that this group from Utah ride a local trail called the Whole Enchilada, whose highest point is also 3390m ! Where used to high thin air and dry dusty conditions ! Well done e Team America indeed the best group I’ve had this year by far !😃😃#ridethealps #lagravevtt and many thanks for excellent driving / bike mechanics skills and lunch making skills and excellent rider @xambruneau not bad ride considering 5.5months ago he Brock his neck !! 😮😃😉

We made it !! Arrive Briancon today even more mega trails and massive smiles ! Fantastic night at refuge Buffere , they rarely ever get MTBikers staying over at all so we we’re novitiy guessed and made very welcome . Just an absolute brilliant ride down nevach valley from the Col at its very very top to get there . On Todays route over Col buffere We meet @paulmclean85 and descended with us down the classic trail from Granon into Briancon! Including the Switchbacks of almost certain death 😂😃👍! #ridethealps #chàmoinx2briancon

Chamonix to Briancon ! My only point to point route this year , but guys are strong and killing it ! Got all Americas , one couple brought there 16yr this time . What a mad weekend of racing at Les Gets !! UCI World Cup XVI and Dh ! You have seen the postes / but it’s double impressive to see it live - feel and surrounded by noise of the crowd while watching the best in the world tackle the most treacherous descent ever! Better still was meeting the riders and finally riding the course !! Yesterday, after its dryer out , me and cammie road down the steep corner and avoid the gap jump as it’s sooo so much bigger up close ! Even the woods sections up higher were hard, cammie fell in a huge rut and could get out 😂 plus we meet a few riders . Got a signed shirt from Brook Macdonald. Even cam sold his Xbox steering wheel to Troy Bronson and Millie Johnset crew was fb market place 😂. Also impressing was the xco race and the track they had was hard enough too!!

Making the best of a long weekend of rain in the a

Making the best of a long weekend of rain in the alps ! Midsummer madness from the weather gods . But trip to Crans Montana for a few laps of DH and natural / while watching the racing ! Local riding also dampen by moisture from above n below - but sprites high and snatched the best parts of day , a few Leo’s if Pumptrack one evening. With cammie showing us both up !! And at last a top to bottom lap of La bourgeoisie dry at top and wet below ! But the beer tasted better that we survived it all and planning to do more in better weather hopefully next year 😃👍😂 #ridethealps

A day at the races in Crans Montana on Friday . We saw the u23 women’s and men’s u23 . It shows how a small difference in line choice makes such a difference in speed and smooth decent . Also the women’s had a heavy shower just before the event and had harder conditions ! Full respect to them and big up the Ella Maclean on 5th place in the women’s for team GB ! We saw the massive rock drops and so impressive ! Big Audis to Tom Piddocl for back to back wins . In short track and XCO too! #ridethealps

Been trying to find dry ish trails - but did find way too much snow on approach to Col du Anterne and had to ride Les Houches instead ! So so wet and ruts !! Decided early on to play it safe and try not to crash !! Which I did 😆no crash on a techerous course ! Fresh snow falling at top of lift and heavy rain and light rain thou out !! I think I made it too third place this year . Waiting for final results and podiums ! But I went home for a shower and warm up! Hands so cold on last descent ! Glad to have survived in one peice 😀 big thanks to @xambruneau for meeting me at Carroz the video shows how steady I was going and sloppy it all was !! And for the warm drink and additional hip flask too ! Much appreciated 👍😉

Quick family May bank holidays camping trip to Swi

Quick family May bank holidays camping trip to Switzerland. Camped in great site, camping Gemmi , on Rhône floor below the 58 switch back descent. And picked off a few favorite descents that we could get too! Plenty of snow up high , and not many lifts open , but most busses and some lifts always running here !👍 cammie now buzzing my back wheel on his mini mullet 😆 !! We did a few shuttles and made the best of it ! Juliet showing 15yr old girls can descent just as harder tech as the boys and Mary too ! A few good hikes as well 😉 plus mandatory fondu , rösti , pizza and visit to thermal baths at Brigabad !! All the things I mostly do on any Ride the alps trip to the valiais . Plus a sneaky stop at Dirt jumps 1934, below La Chable - we’ve ridden past these jumps on every C-Z I’ve ever guided and finally we had a go ! #ridethealps

First ride back home last week was more snow and slippery then expected!! Took a youngest up to show him some trails / but end up yo-yo below the snow line as lower trails still dry ! #ridethealps

We finished our 150km bike trip with Grandpa Kirkb

We finished our 150km bike trip with Grandpa Kirkbride, at Bulith wells - some rain 🌧️ and headwinds - but mostly had better weather then expected 😉 even sunshine ! A great stay in a 600yr old pub in Hay on Wye and a visit from old friends John n Fi who live there now. And also many thanks to @ke.vin7681 and his brother Paul for collecting us at Bulith and driving us back to Cardiff 👏 just got bikes back to Pedal Power Cardiff in time ! Our last super sunny day in Cardiff was spent looking at the sights of the dock - the official start of taff trail. Juju even got a touch of sunburn ! 😜 a rare occurrence in wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 😆 . As soon as one trip is over Mary is planning the next 😉 we promised the kids in Europe where the average temperature is higher (I didn’t take photos during the rain- drizzle and headwinds sections- so they don’t exist!) #familyholidays #whatdoesnotkillyoumakesyoustronger 😆😉👍
