Terms and conditions

Terms and conditions for travel with Ride the Alps Limited.

  1. We at Ride The Alps (RTA) assume that all clients have a good understanding of your own abilities and that, after reading the itineraries and discussing any doubts or queries with us, will select a trip that best suits your ability.
  2. We request that all clients have adequate travel insurance for yourselves and your bikes. RTA assumes a reasonable ‘duty of care’ for all clients on our holidays but we are not liable for any damage or theft relating to your personal possessions or for your health care. Travel insurance is mandatory for all guided trips. Your travel insurance should be taken out as soon as you have booked your trip, this will protect your flight.
  3. In the unlikely event that the trip should have to be cancelled altogether for an unforeseen reason, i.e. lack of numbers due to clients pulling out of the trip at the last minute, RTA is not liable for the cost of your plane ticket, or travel arrangements, ferry cost etc.
  4. Force Majeure: We will not pay you compensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way because of war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances that may amount to force majeure.
  5. Our holidays are all priced in euro. The client pays Jamie and Mary directly in euro for their services and to the accommodation providers directly in euro or Swiss Francs for their services. Any changes in the exchange rate between the pound and the euro and Swiss Franc are therefore absorbed entirely by the client.
  6. All trips to Canada that are booked with RTA are guided by RTA guides and employees of or the proprietor of ‘Tyax Air’, Dale Douglas. The client may well be asked to sign a further waiver or disclaimer by Dale or his guides. These guides are there to ensure you have a great holiday. The decision of the guide in Canada is final, RTA have no ability to overturn any decision in relation to a clients ability to ride a particular trail or route.
  7. In the case of disputes arising from client complaints that cannot be dealt with or sorted out during the trip, the complainant must make their case in writing by email or preferably by post and send this to RTA within a week of returning from the trip. We will make every attempt to resolve all complaints swiftly and effectively. If the matter proceeds to court then these terms and conditions will be referred to. Any dispute will be dealt with by a UK court of law in England, and not in the country where the holiday / tour took place.
  8. Cancellations and refunds. In the unfortunate circumstance that you have to cancel your trip you may be entitled to a full or partial refund, depending on the date of your received cancellation (by telephone at first then in writing) before the departure date. The departure date is the first day of your trip as advertised. All cancellation refunds will be less an administration charge of 30 euro. Cancellation more than 12 weeks prior to your departure date - full refund. Cancellation within 12 weeks to 28 days prior to your departure - 50% refund. Cancellation within 27 to 15 days prior to your departure - 25% refund. Cancellation within 14 days prior to your departure - no refund. Note, if you have taken travel insurance, for genuine medical reasons and/or personal tragedy it is possible to recover the money you have paid for your holiday from your insurance company.
  9. If you disagree with any of the Terms and Conditions listed above please clearly indicate this to RTA before you book. If we cannot resolve or clarify your objection then you have free choice not to travel with us. If you agree to these terms and conditions then we are happy for you to book with us and look forward to riding with you soon.
