Roam in the Rhone

Six days of adrenalin filled, predominantly downhill mountain biking. We use comfortable hotels in 3 centre bases, our Ride the Alps van and a range of cable cars, chairlifts and funicular railways to take the strain on the uphills so we make the most of the descents. Roam in the Rhone is pure, quality, technical mountain biking at its very best!

Roam in the Rhone mountain bikingFreeride mountain biking holidays

After many years of biking in and around the Rhone valley in the Swiss Valais, discovering some of the world’s finest singletrack en route (have you ridden our Chamonix to Zermatt route?), we’ve decided to design a trip that brings together the very best of these trails that descend into the Rhone. Roam in the Rhone is this trip. We use comfortable hotels in three centre bases, our Ride the Alps van and a range of cable cars, chairlifts and funicular railways to take the strain on the uphills so we make the most of the descents.

Given the choice of great trails at our disposal we can mix and match the riding days to a certain extent to suit the ability and needs of the group. If you book up as a group of riders we can even custom design the trip to suit your collective abilities in advance. Read the trip itinerary »

What is included?

The trip includes six days of guiding with van support, half board accommodation, mechanical assistance and airport transfers.

Why choose Ride the Alps

Ride the Alps was set up in 2002 by Jamie Carr and is run by Jamie and his partner Mary Kirkbride. The company was born from Jamie’s deep passion for mountain biking and its primary aim is to offer mountain bikers the opportunity to ride on some of the best trails in the French and Swiss Alps. Jamie is one of the select few guides who has International Mountain Leader (IML) and British Mountain Bike Leader qualifications and 2012 will be Jamie’s 27th year of riding mountain bikes and 20th year of guiding mountain bike trips all over the world.
