Find answers to common questions about the Alpine Singletrack weekend mountain bike trip.
The Alpine single track weekends are the most flexible and luxurious of the riding trips we offer. As pampered as you can be on a mountain biking holiday with centre based accommodation and excellent food. The riding in the Alps is hugely varied, with some big climbs and can be very technically demanding in places. We aim to do as much riding as possible, aimed at a level to suit you. Please call or email us to clarify any queries with regards your suitability. Suitable for all riders that are reasonably fit, ride regularly and want a challenging, rewarding and varied weekend of riding with good accommodation and excellent food. We can lengthen or shorten this weekend, as you wish.
Flights to Geneva are available from most UK airports. The following links maybe of interest: British Airways, Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2.
We will arrange your transfer from Geneva airport to the chalet once we have your flight details. We offer one timed transfer for the group in our Ride the Alps van per trip. If you can't or don't want to join this transfer we will help you to find the cheapest alternative but this will not be included in the price. All this will be arranged when we get all travel details from the group 6 weeks prior to departure. The return transfer to Geneva airport is also a timed group transfer.
Fully guided 2.5 days of mountain biking by a very experienced British mountain bike guide. Accommodation, all breakfasts and two evening meals, some van support and airport transfers.
Your personal spending money. Your personal travel and bike insurance, which you must have. All snacks and lunches. 1 evening meal.
Your bike! In good working order, full suspension and disc brakes are recommended to make you life more comfortable. Your bike must be a good quality mountain bike with at least decent front suspension forks. No hybrid bikes please as these are not suitable. Most appropriate would be regular hard tails or full suspension with 3 to 6 inch travel.
Enough clothing for 2 or 3 continuous days of riding in hot and cool weather as it is hard to predict early and late season alpine weather. Maximum altitude for the is approximately 1,800m or 5,000 feet so there are no problems with altitude sickness but it can be cold if the weather turns. As this is the Alps we can expect Alpine weather patterns which include the chance of inclement weather - showers or thunder storms are possible. Have a look at the kit list below if you need more guidance in what to bring. Lastly bring a good attitude, plenty of energy and a willingness to give new things a go as there's lots of fun to be had out on them trails!
