The Alpine summer mountain biking season has begun!

Summer has arrived in the Alps and the biking season is well underway. Here's what lies ahead for Ride the Alps this summer.

The summer mountain biking season is fully underway here in the Alps. Jamie has been guiding our local Alpine Singletrack trips, which will continue throughout June. Our first trip started on fat bikes with a bit of riding on snow and ended on enduro trail bikes on the dirt – a proper seasonal transition trip! There’s a lot of snow up high still but it hasn’t caused us any problems yet. The real test will be our first Chamonix to Zermatt trip, which starts end of June. We’re pretty sure there’ll be some bike skiing on that trip!

We’ve got a full season of summer mountain biking ahead. Once the Alpine Singletrack trips are finished Jamie will be guiding three Chamonix to Zermatt trips, two Monte Rosa tours and two Tour du Mont Blancs. We also have seven self-guide Tour du Mont Blanc trips booked-in so far.

Our season is now fully booked until 20th September and we can really only do centre-based guided riding after that. The weather is normally good until mid-October so if you do fancy a late season Alpine experience please get in touch. Alternatively if you want to ride independently and are looking for somewhere to stay our holiday apartment  is available from 8th August on wards. We will be more than happy to help you with route recommendations. The lifts in our valley stay open until 31st August. If you have a larger group of people then we are renting out our home – a traditionally renovated Savoyard farmhouse – between 14th and 23rd August.

We are already taking bookings for summer 2019 so if you have a group and a trip in mind for next year please let us know sooner rather than later. With just the one guide our seasons do book up very quickly.

Enjoy the start of your summer!
