An autumn adventure in the Alps

It's warm and sunny here in the Alps. The trails are quiet. Travel is safe and easy. Come on over for an autumn alpine adventure.

If you’re looking for an autumn adventure then come on out to see us in the Alps. The sun is still shining, the days are warm and we have availability. I’ve included pictures from our end of summer trip to Switzerland in this post. You could be out riding these very same trails this autumn if you choose.

We have been taking some last minute bookings this past week for people in need of an autumn adventure after a summer of travel restrictions and uncertainty. Jamie will be guiding a 1:1 Tour du Mont Blanc with Ben this week. A quick 4 day lap of the big mountain bike packing style. In another week’s time Sophie will be coming out to stay in our apartment, do some guided local riding and enjoy a different work environment for a couple of weeks. You too could be experiencing an autumn adventure tailored to suit your specific requirements. All you need to do is message Mary. We can be as flexible as you wish with the riding, accommodation and dates. Don’t worry about cancellation due to Covid. You don’t have to pay anything until a couple of days prior to your departure.

It’s becoming increasingly easier to travel between the UK and France as restrictions are lifted. For our friends further afield it may take a bit longer before we see you again. We returned from a visit to the UK at the end of August and it was easy and stress-free. We had PCR tests done at a walk-in clinic in our village prior to departure.  For our UK arrival we booked relatively inexpensive tests with Testing for All, a not-for-profit provider of test kits. Their instructions were easy to follow and the results arrived within 24 hours. Finally prior to our return we had a fit-to-fly tests done at the airport, which was extremely quick and easy.  It looks like the end of the traffic light system is in sight as well as an end to testing for fully vaccinated travelers, which will make traveling even easier. I understand that there is still some resistance to travel, perhaps based on fear or a feeling that it’s going to be too much hassle. Perhaps some of us have just got out of the habit of going away. I was definitely worried about our journey being stressful and complicated but it really wasn’t at all. I think that we have all put off so much these past 18 months and now really is the time to stop saying “we’ll see” and start saying “let’s do it!”. If you’ve been contemplating an autumn adventure then please do get in touch. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the Alps.

Looking ahead to next season, our schedule is filling-up quickly. We have a mixture of trips postponed from 2020 and new bookings from our regular guests who are keen to get out to ride with us again. We have availability in June for centre-based trips like Alpine Singletrack and the Alpine Enduro (featuring rides shown in these photos). We have one more week available in July from 24th-31st, which is suitable for all trips. 1st-12th of August is also available for any kind of riding. September is already fully-booked. Get in touch with Mary if you already have a trip in mind for 2022.

See you this season or next!
