2021 singletrack summer

Why we think the Haut Giffre is the perfect destination for a singletrack summer in 2021.

Happy New Year! It might not have been the most joyous of festive seasons but we hope you all arrived in 2021 happy and well. We always find that the dark winter months are the perfect time to make plans for summer adventures. Perhaps this year more than ever you need a singletrack summer to look forward to.

We live in the Haut Giffre valley in the Northern French Alps. It is tucked away between the Chamonix valley, the Arve valley and the Dranse valley (Morzine/Les Gets). It is lesser-known and therefore much quieter than any of its neighbours. One side of the valley offers lift-assisted riding in the summer months. The other side of the valley remains lift-free and wild. We run our Alpine Singletrack trips out of the villages of Morillon and Samoens in the Haut Giffre valley. Here’s a taste of our local trails from Loris Vergier and Santa Cruz. The village featured at the start of the film is Samoens.

We think the Haut Giffre is the perfect destination for your singletrack summer. There’s an excellent variety of trails for enduro, downhill and cross-country riders. You can spend time playing off the lifts one day and have a high mountain point-to-point adventure another day. There are trails to suit everyone from novice to experienced riders. We have run successful trips for family groups as well as groups of seasoned enduro riders. Our valley is perfectly located to enable you to explore some of the best riding in the surrounding areas too. Chamonix and the Portes du Soleil are only a short drive away. The fantastic family-friendly bike park of Les Saisies is also within range.

The Haut Giffre is easy to travel to. Geneva airport is only an hour away. There are train stations 20 minutes away.

Our Alpine Singletrack trips are the most flexible of all of our holidays. You can select your own start and finish days, the number of days of riding and choose where you want to stay. We can offer you a range of accommodation from self-contained self-catering apartments and chalets to a fully-catered chalet experience. Our own self-catering apartment and farmhouse are among the available options.

We can customise the riding during our Alpine Singletrack trips to suit your needs and ability. We even offer these trips on a self-guided basis if you are confident enough to explore the area without a guide. Every aspect of the trip can be tailor-made to enable you to have the ideal singletrack summer. Contact Mary if you are interested in riding with us this season.
