Ride the Alps was set up in 2002 by Jamie Carr and is run by Jamie and his partner Mary Kirkbride. The company was born from Jamie's deep passion for mountain biking and its primary aim is to offer mountain bikers the opportunity to ride on some of the best trails in the French and Swiss Alps.
Ride the Alps specialises in point-to-point trips as there's nothing like the sense of achievement that comes with following a classic route to reach your final destination. Ride the Alps believes that the benefits of guided trips are three-fold; enabling mountain bikers to experience more of the local area, to ride the trails that suit them best and consequently give them the confidence to try and learn new biking skills.
Having ridden his bike all over the world, Jamie has added a few "special trips" to the Ride the Alps repertoire to run once the alpine biking season is over. The trips on offer will change from year to you but include such prime mountain biking destinations as Whistler and the Chilcotin Hills in Canada, the Catalan hills of north eastern Spain and the high Tibetan plateau. 'My goal is to keep Ride the Alps small and friendly, to show people the best mountain biking that suits their needs and abilities. I've hopefully created enough trips to suit a wide variety of bikers. From here in Alps and with the help of my friends in other parts of the world, I will show you the best time you can have on a bike! I look forward to riding with you soon.'
